Level 2 (Foundational)

Essential Sales and Marketing Principles

No matter what market a business operates in, sales and marketing skills are essential, and most businesses just get by, but in tougher economic times the absence of sales and marketing competency can be the diffference between the success or failure of the business. Some of the essential sales and marketing skills required are prospecting for new business, engaging with prospects, delivering a compelling sales proposition, negotiating an acceptable price and closing the sale.

The Foundational Sales Programme

This programme lays a groundwork of essential principles and practices that are core to any successful sales role. The programme offers a holistic view of key sales and marketing skills and methodologies, which comply with the UK's legislative and ethical guidelines.

Programme Schedule

The course of study involves four compulsory units, an optional unit (chosen from three options, which are aimed at specific sales roles). The Level 2 Certificate in Sales & Marketing has a value of 17 credits on the QCF and the modules are shown below:

Mandatory Units:

  • Legal and Ethical Sales Essentials (3 credits)
  • Marketing Essentials (4 credits)
  • Influencing Buyer Behaviour Essentials (3 credits)
  • Sales Targeting Essentials (2 credits)
